Walnut Creek Police Chief Brings Some Well Received Informtion

P1000306 P1000308 (1)

On Thursday, July 17th,  Chief Thomas Chaplan Was the guest speaker at our board meeting.  Chief brought a few of his Officers and discussed the current staffing increases as well as the philosophy of the Walnut Creek police force.

The Walnut Creek police motorcycle traffic enforcement team was eliminated due to financial cutbacks a few years ago.  This important team is being re-staffed, you can expect to see several motorcycle police officers shortly.  The increase in Officers will be obvious according to Chief Chaplain.

Here is a link to the interview Ruby Lopez did on Creek Currents

24 neighbors who produce art in our Rancho San Miguel neighborhood
have shown interest in sharing and displaying their art on April 28th of this year.
Please mark your calendars and use this opportunity to get to know your
neighbors and artists at the Rancho San Miguel Art Show, to be held at

Rancho San Miguel Swim Club Community Room, 2727 San Carlos Dr. Walnut Creek Ca. 94598 on Saturday April 28, 2012 from 12:00pm to 6:00pm.
There will also be an evening Artist Reception by invitation: Friday April 27th 7:00 – 10:00pm.

Art is a reflection of one’s passions and personality. We have 24
wonderful treasures that make our community special and I know there
will be more to come after the first show. I have had the pleasure to see
the diversity of art that is here in planning the show and I am impressed with
the quality of art hidden in RSM. The neighborhood is in for a real treat
to embrace, encourage and enjoy the creativity in our community.

Come to the Art Show, get to know the artist and meet your neighbors.
The more we know each other the more it makes for a stronger and more
cohesive community. What better way to make new friends and be enriched.

Sincerely yours,
Phil Toy – Curator / Photographer / Artist / Classic Car Collector

Night Time Road Work May 2- May 5

A subcontractor for PG&E will be working at the intersection of Ygnacio Valley Rd. and San Carlos Rd. from 10:00 PM to 5:00 AM, Monday May 2nd through Thursday May 5th.  “This may involve digging in the sidewalk and/or street through the intersection.”

The supervisor’s name and number- George Castro (510) 719-8408 is listed if you have any questions, or- for calls not addressed by the supervisor the number (707) 746-8800 is provided.  Maybe they can give the residents getting up early for work that week earplugs.

Entry Spruce Up

The entry fence was painted by members of the RSMHA on the morning of April 10th.  Next weekend, we hope to place the new “Rancho San Miguel” signs up on both entryways.
